We are delighted to have a team at the Muhimbili National Hospital, Tanzania, this week, consulting on many children with complex cases and performing much needed surgeries.  Long-term OCL volunteer Prof. Fergal Quinn, Consultant Paediatric Surgeon and Urologist, Children’s Hospital Crumlin is joined by Dr Abdulrahman Al Shafie, Neonatal/Paediatric Surgery and Paediatric Urology specialist, Bahrain Defence Force Hospital, and Clinical Tutor in Surgery, Royal College of Surgeon Ireland – Bahrain, on this visit.

Pictured is Prof. Quinn and the local team on a 2023 visit to the hospital, when he consulted on the treatment of 28 children with complex cases, advising on patients as young as three months old.   During his visit he also completed 18 surgeries for young patients in need.
